Child dignity and equality Foundation (C-DEF) is a Non-Governmental and Non-Profit organization which was officially registered on 17th December 2018 as a Non-Government Organization (NGO) with registration number ooNG0/00010013. On January 21,2025 has been issued with a new certificate under the terms and conditions of Non-Governmental Organization Act, 2002 with registration number 00NGO/R1/00143 to operate in Tanzania mainland
To ensure realization of this goal, C-DEF believes in working in partnership to protect the rights of children and women to realise their full potential. C-DEF has established partnership with CFO in advocating for child rights. C-DEF work closely with Government Authority including Government and Local government leaders from PO-RALG, regional secretariat, DED office, ward and villages government and other stakeholders private and government entities.
Vision statement: C-DEF’s Vision is to have a world in which development and participation of children is fully protected by everyone.
Mission statement: C-DEF’s Mission is to empower the public, promote and safeguard child rights and wellbeing in Tanzania.
C-DEF is dedicated to fostering positive change and empowering communities through the following objectives:
- To advocate for child protection against abuse, early marriage, neglect, torture, sexual exploitation, forced marriage, street children and child Labor.
- To promote conducive and enabling environment for education of children in Tanzania.
- To advocate for environmental conservation that is friendly for future generation
- To promote economic empowerment among families.
- To promote food security and improve nutrition status of children to reduce malnutrition.
vi) To promote gender equality and women’s rights.
C-DEF believes and is defined by its core values. These values describe the organization in and out. It portrays the image of the organization to our stakeholders, partners and beneficiaries. All staff, board members, partners and stakeholders when working with C-DEF must observe the organization core value since these values are the ones which guide operation and performance of the organization.
