Child dignity and equality Foundation (C-DEF) is a Non-Governmental and Non-Profit organization which was officially registered on 17th December 2018 , C-DEF is mainly involved in advocating and protection of children and women’s rights by empowering youth, children, women and community in general on the rights of children and women.

On January 21,2025 has been issued with a new certificate under the terms and conditions of Non-Governmental Organization Act, 2002 with registration number 00NGO/R1/00143 to operate in Tanzania mainland
C-DEF is mainly involved in advocating and protection of children and women’s rights by empowering youth, children, women and community in general on the rights of children and women.

What We Do
Safe Guarding and Child Protection
C-DEF trains communities on child labor awareness and empowers students through Child Ambassador Clubs to report child rights violations. So far, communities and students have been trained to advocate for child protection in the 5 Local Government Authorities (LGAs) of Gairo, Kilosa, Mvomero, Morogoro Municipal Council (MC), and Morogoro District Council (DC)
Safe and Inclusive Education
The organization has trained 1,254 Community Education Mobilizers, 1210 parents and teachers, and 629 teachers to create inclusive learning environments. It has also trained 193 parents and 22 teachers in sign language to support children with deafness. Through community mobilization, 629 community have also been engaged in school development, infrastructure improvement, and reducing absenteeism
Gender and Women’s Rights
C-DEF raises awareness on gender equality and child labor, benefiting community members and reaching communities across the districts of Gairo, Kilosa, Mvomero, Morogoro Municipal Council (MC), and Morogoro District Council (DC). It also participates in advocacy events like the 16 Days of Activism and International Women’s Day
Economic Empowerment
As part of its Economic Empowerment efforts, C-DEF is training communities on income-generating activities to enhance their livelihoods and promote self-sufficiency.
Environmental Conservation and Protection
C-DEF promotes sustainable school development by integrating environmental conservation into education projects through tree planting, waste management, and climate awareness initiatives.
Food and Nutrition
C-DEF supports school feeding programs to enhance student well-being and academic performance.
